CAR to deliver 1M votes for Gibo

BAGUIO City — At least 150 local executives of the Cordillera Auto-nomous Region are for Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer Gilbert Teodoro.

The local officials led by Baguio City Rep. Mauricio Domogan, regional chairman of Lakas-Kampi-CMD, agreed to ensure Teo-doro’s victory in CAR. He said CAR, composed of Apayao, Kalinga, Benguet, Mountain Province, Abra, Ifugao and Baguio City can deliver more than 1 million votes for Teodoro.

Present during the meeting are Governors Nestor Fonguan of Benguet, Gov. Maximo Da-log of Mt. Province, Floydelia Diasen of Kalinga and Estaquio Bersamin of Abra. Ifugao Rep. Solomon Chungalao, Benguet Vice Gov. Crescencio Pacalso also graced the event.

Speaking in Ilocano, Teodoro vowed to strengthen the local government units to improve the economic conditions and sustainable tourism of these mountainous provinces.

He also vowed to prioritize the peace and order situation in this region where insurgency still exists..

Diasen said their constituents prefer Teodoro.

“We believe in loyalty. Our loyalty is in the party. Teodoro is an adopted son of Kalinga,“ Diasen said.

Bersamin said 25 of 27Abra mayors are supporting Teodoro. He also asked the survey firms to conduct their own surveys in the provinces. “We will campaign hard for Teodoro,” Bersamin, brother of slain Rep. Luis Bersamin, said.

In Mt. Province, Da-log said majority are backing the candidacy of Teodoro.

“We don’t mind the surveys. The local officials are supporting all the candidates of Lakas-Kampi-CMD,” Dalog said.
