BAGUIO CITY, Philippines—Members of this year’s graduating batch of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) received well wishes from administration candidate Gilbert Teodoro, who told them to always follow the chain of command and discipline, and to stay safe.
Teodoro, former Secretary of Defense, said he is confident the members of the Masidlak (Mandirigmang Sibol ng Dakilang Kayumanggi) Class of 2010 will live by their duties when they take their oath as graduates.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is the key guest in the graduation rites scheduled at 12 noon Monday.
Teodoro, an adopted member of the PMA “Magilas” Class of 1976, will not attend the ceremony, although he was here until Monday.
The Lakas-Kampi-Christian Muslim Democrats standard-bearer left early in the day for Manila following sorties in the north, which included Laoag City, Vigan City, La Union province, and Baguio City.
“I just wish them well, just stay safe,” Teodoro said when asked for his message to the graduates.
When he was head of the defense establishment, Teodoro said he was able to put in place measures like the reinstitution of remediation policies and strictly insulated the military from politics
