Talking to farmers in the towns of San Carlos, Manaoag, and Villasis in Pangasinan, Fernando assured them that should he get elected, he would introduce new irrigation and flood control systems using his expertise and experience as the former chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.”If funds have been provided for the new irrigation and teaching new methods of agri-business to the farmers, we will not have a shortage of food and we will not spend billions of money,” said Fernando.
Fernando and his running mate, Bagumbayan standard-bearer Sen. Richard Gordon, have just finished a five-day campaign tour through the provinces of Pangasinan, Pampanga and Tarlac. – Mike Frialde
